Benewake has announced mass production of the TF-UW500 underwater single-point LiDAR for applications such as pool-cleaning robots.
Underwater sensing involves reflectivity changes, strong light, low-reflectivity and mirror-like surfaces, and turbidity. Selection and mounting must be checked against the real water, target surface, and system algorithm.
The legacy publication records production delivery and work with robot customers. Public specifications describe sensor capability and do not establish the final result of every pool or robot system.
