Scenario
Application scenario
The customer allows the university material to be shown as an application direction. The product being sold and recommended is TF-Luna, not a walking cane. Recognition, alerts, and safety policy remain with the assistive-device system.
Engineering problem
- Wearable or handheld posture changes the field of view.
- Targets with different material and height produce different returns.
- Safety prompts require validation with target users and environments.
Why LiDAR
Compact, low-power range input is easy to embed in an assistive device so the upper system can sense nearby targets.
Workflow
- Define device position, detection direction, and alert distance.
- Validate TF-Luna against mounting space and power constraints.
- Connect range and status to the device controller.
- Validate prompts indoors and outdoors with different floors and obstacles.
